Our Mission
Our practice was started in 1985, and ever since, our mission has been to provide the highest quality exam in a pleasant and caring environment.
We believe this is best accomplished through the skills, experience, and state-of-the-art technology we bring to each procedure. We measure our success by each patient’s level of satisfaction with the exam process as well as our diagnostic accuracy in providing timely and pertinent information to our referring physicians. Each study is performed in close correlation with the patient’s clinical status and we take the time to answer questions, discuss clinical symptoms and explain the results of the examination with you and your family.
Our Technology and Innovative Team
Our practice is uniquely accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American College of Radiology, and the Fetal Medicine Foundation. Our facility is equipped with the most current, state-of-the-art technology in 4D ultrasound, digital mammography and bone densitometry. All equipment is professionally maintained and routinely inspected by manufacturer engineers and physicists, and annually certified by the FDA.
Our team of highly accomplished, registered sonographers, mammographers, and board-certified radiologists are a unique and important feature of our practice. Working together, we combine the art of patient care, strong clinical experience, and excellent diagnostic and technical skills to perform what we believe to be the highest quality examination available.
Especially noteworthy is our long history of introducing new technology and innovative procedures to the area. Ultrasound Associates was founded as the first high-risk OB/GYN out-patient ultrasound facility in Alexandria. Thereafter, we were also the first in the area to offer endovaginal studies and perform amniocentesis and sonohysterograms in the out-patient setting.
In 2004, Ultrasound Associates was first in the metropolitan area, and one of only 53 facilities nationwide, to be certified by the Fetal Medical Foundation to perform nuchal translucency screening. In early 2007, Ultrasound Associates announced its use of 4D imaging as an important part of its OB/GYN diagnostic process. Most recently in 2009, our practice was selected to become the Northeastern show site for Kodak Carestream’s highly innovative Radiology Information System (RIS) and digital Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
