Ultrasound Associates to Showcase Kodak’s New Radiology Information System
Ultrasound Associates has agreed to become Kodak Carestream’s first Mid-Atlantic show site for Outpatient Solutions, a digital imaging and information system designed for outpatient imaging centers. Under the agreement Ultrasound Associates will host domestic and international visitors.
During 2008-2009, Ultrasound Associates installed Carestream’s “all-in-one” Outpatient Solutions software package that incorporates a digital picture archiving and communications system (PACS), integrated radiology information system (RIS), with web-based viewing of radiology reports and key images. The PACS/RIS system works seamlessly in connection with Ultrasound Associates’ state-of-the-art GE 4D ultrasound imaging systems, and the Hologic digital mammography and bone densitometry systems.
The Carestream RIS system automatically transmits reports to physicians according to their preference via fax, hard copy delivery, or web-based access. Physicians can now view their patient exam results using the physician’s web portal anytime. Alternatively, physician practices with electronic medical record systems can arrange to have patient reports sent directly to individual patient’s medical records via electronic transmission.
In 2010, Ultrasound Associates staff will be contacting and working with referring physician office staff to answer questions and provide web site portal access instructions.
